Wildlife in our area consists of various game birds, deer, antelope, canine and other animals. We have both white tail and mule deer. Antelope, as well as coyotes are animals very suited to our area. Turkey, ducks, geese, pheasant, grouse are some of the game birds in our area. In the spring and fall we have various migratory birds stop on their way through.

One example is swans, geese, sandhills crane, yellow finches, and red winged black birds and many, many more. We have 3 variety of owls and several hawks and eagles. Fox, mountain lions, bobcats, porcupine, skunks, raccoon, muskrats, different snakes, turtles, lizards are just a few of the other animals that co-exist with us. We have many opportunities to view these creatures, as we spend much of our time outdoors. Join us in our life with nature and you too will see and enjoy it at its best!

Our area provides a variety of opportunities to fossil or rock hunt. We are in the Eocene and Oligocene era in the Brule formation. Rock beds 10 miles to our north are reminders we were once the edge of a glacier. Evidence that we were once underwater is shown by what fossils are found. Our ranch’s geological structure was caused by a slip fault, which is the reason for our unique scenery and varying formations. Contact us and we will tell you more information about this topic and what has been found on our ranch and surrounding area.
